About this Product

-This piece is a non-native tribute to the Oglala Nation, faithfully and respectfully recreated in the traditional ways.

Radiating with warrior Spirit!

We are exceedingly honored to be displaying this Oglala style war shirt. This Eagle Spirit battle regalia is a truly striking piece of fine art.

Beginning with a high quality tanned elk hide of perfect gold, aged with ash and lavished in traditional detailing. Exceptionally gorgeous bead work  covering both arms and the breast in Oglala blue, burgundy, and white. A highly detailed breastplate combining beadwork, war bells, ermine, and horse mane, fringed at the bottom in blue and yellow.  A highly rugged and historical looking piece, with beautifully aged blue fade at the garments base. Matching blue fringe on both sleeves portrays elegance and originality in this plains war garment. Heavily lavished in black and gold horsehair along both arms and throughout the chest area, along with additional war bells down the front.

The mounting wood is an insanely unique piece of Colorado oak. The shape and feel of this wood piece is a work of art all its own. The stem of the mount runs vertical through the entire garment, giving the piece a three dimensional living aspect. The entire piece protrudes from the wall, as the artist has angled the wood in the arms slightly forward as if the Eagle spirit is reaching out. The concept of the display is to place your lighting directly below it, creating the eagles wings as shadows upon the wall behind. (This is shown in the main photo)

A truly fabulous piece of historical art for the serious collector of both western and Native American Art. We have priced this piece well below market value for a short time, but it will not last long. Don't miss your opportunity to make one of the finest Oglala war shirts alive your own.

Thank you for enabling our shop to foster and support Native American heritage through the fine arts.
